Theo-Caching Returns!

Many of you have probably begun to see the promotions for "Return of the Theo-Cachers" in the worship folder. This event, which will be taking place on October 30th (Beggar's Night), is intended to be an outreach event for our community. This will not be an event that replaces regular Beggar's Night activities, but it will be a primer for them. This event will run from 5-6pm, which is right before Ankeny's Beggar's Night activities begin. We will have some of our Theo-Cacher characters back and they will be running games and handing out candy. This is a come-and-go-as-you-please type of event. so please invite your neighbors and friends to come get their night started at First Family Church. We are also beginning to collect candy donations for the night. Please feel free to buy some individually wrapped candies and drop them off at the church. There will be a box by the youth room and in the welcome area. Thanks! … [Read more...]

Children’s Ministry Transition Plan

Seasons Change... That’s not only true about the earth, but also about people and churches. And Shelleena McConnell, First Family’s Children’s Director, is entering a season of change in which she will begin transitioning out of her role here in order to be with her husband, Bob, who is pursuing vocational pastoral ministry. And to provide our growing congregation with the necessary information about this transition, specifically Shelleena’s since it involves over 200 children and 50 volunteers on a weekly basis, we have put together the … [Read more...]
