Children’s Ministry Transition Plan

Seasons Change... That’s not only true about the earth, but also about people and churches. And Shelleena McConnell, First Family’s Children’s Director, is entering a season of change in which she will begin transitioning out of her role here in order to be with her husband, Bob, who is pursuing vocational pastoral ministry. Bob is currently one of our elders, and this pursuit has been stirring in him for some time. After a semester of leading E3 (our Saturday night service), Bob has elected to focus even more intensely now on “landing” in one place as a pastor. As you can tell, they are both in a season of change. While we will no doubt miss the McConnells, we are proud of them and thankful God used them to help plant First Family Church back in 2004. And to provide our growing congregation with the necessary information about this transition, specifically Shelleena’s since it involves over 200 children and 50 volunteers on a weekly basis, we have put together the … [Read more...]

Asking for Servants

Fellow FFCers, This is a plea that seems to be endless...but not hopeless. This is a request that is ongoing...but not without reward. This is a request that often gets deleted all too quickly because of its familiarity. We ask that you read this email and listen as God speaks to you. The small blessings we have in our church sometimes seem too numerous to count. We see evidence of them as smudges on our windows, wrappers left on the floors, and noise whirring through the halls. These are the little blessings we've been given to walk alongside the path that leads to salvation in Jesus alone. … [Read more...]
