Global Outreach

There are over 6,000 unreached people groups (UPGs) in the world today (i.e., a community/ethnicity of people with a common language and culture where less than 2% of the population has heard the good news of the Gospel). So the task of the church – to make disciples of all nations – is greater than ever! At First Family, we are confident God is calling us to glorify him by doing our part to lower the number of UPGs. Consequently, our strategy in the area of global outreach puts a strong emphasis on UPGs. In fact, our goal is to see 75% of our budgeted mission funds go to pioneering works (missionaries in areas that are unreached and/or closed), with the remaining 25% going towards mobilizing works (missionaries in areas that are considered reached/opened and have more than 2% of their population evangelized.)

Currently, FFC’s missionaries and partnerships include:

  • Pioneering: International Mission Board (SBC), Gary DeGraaf (France), Scotte and BethAnn Staab (Romania), a young lady in North Africa, Harold and Julie Nesbitt (undisclosed), Eric and Anissa Haney (Sweden)
  • Mobilizing: North American Mission Board (SBC), Gerald Chirwa and Gospelink (Zambia), Owen and Stephanie Fuller (D. R. of Congo), Russ and Cathy Matthews (Australia), Randy and Sara Hentzel (Jamaica), Khoa and Heida Ha (Navigators @ Drake University), Baptist Friendship Center (Des Moines)
